ISF Projects / MYMC Neonatal ICU

Seven percent of all babies born today require treatment in neonatal intensive care units, and the increase in premature births in recent years illustrates a pressing need for an enlarged and upgraded Neonatal ICU. The rise in IVF and other fertility treatments are partially responsible for these drastic increases, leaving Maayanei HaYeshua Medical Center (MYMC) and other hospitals with inadequate facilities. Out of the hundreds of premature, sick and high-risk babies born each year MYMC is only equipped to care for ten of these precious infants at a time. Yet, we do this with great success. Our on-site medical professionals and specialists have worked tirelessly to raise our infant survival rate significantly above the national average. More innocent young lives are at stake and these too must be saved. Our facilities must be expanded or many infants will never be given the chance to survive. To save lives we must properly care for the hundreds of babies born each year requiring intensive care. Currently Maayanei HaYeshua Medical Center (MYMC) has plans to expand our Neonatal ICU Center to a 16-bed unit with state-of-the-art equipment. As one of Israel’s busiest maternity hospitals in the country, it is our obligation to launch this $1,500,000 project securing the lives of hundreds of newborns.
